And to make it even more unusual, that is a 2 seat Hurricane in use by a USAAF unit in Italy....

Now that is very interesting Mr Hornet, I had never heard of a two seat Hurricane. Were there many of them built?

There were no 2 seat Hurricanes built at the factory during the war (there were 2 post-war delivered to the Persian (Iranian) AF.

However a small number were field converted, including some by the Soviets.

The one in the photo belongs to the 350th Fighter Group USAAF who had two of them. The old 350th FG blog site which had the photos originally is dead.

But if you put the serial BP654 into Google Images you will see 3 photos of it (including a closeup of the cockpit with 2 pilots).

Ok Boys, enough of the Hurricane two seaters discussion!

Back to the theme,...stories, stories and stories wanted for ADF Serials's Telegraph.

I'd like to think others want to publish findings or snippets for all to read, and get a pat on the back from me at the very least.

Best and hopeful that I'm not starting a TP-40 two seater thread now

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Some of those will be in Dave. You've been one of the good guys, so thumbs up for you. You're #1 or #10, depends on your perspective!

Just want more diversification

It was a tough flight, but we landed and stopped at the boundary fence per A68-727. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one Baby!

Probably not really interesting but I did pick up a copy of the "RAAF News" Vol 4, No 8 September 1962 which contains an 8 page supplement detailing all the aircraft of the RAAF and how they were allotted numbers in the three "A" series registers. I think most of the information is already on this site.
