I came across this photo the other day and obviously the serial is wrong. I was told it was taken in 1977, would anyone have any idea of it's background? I was thinking maybe it was for a movie, but I have no idea.
Cheers :D (IMG:https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2887/33940953136_63e567abb9_b.jpg) |

Maybe try contacting Dick Lohuis on Airliner.net, his user name appears to be Riessen2.

Yes, I did contact him but he couldn't provide any further details. He didn't actually take it, but it was in his collection.

The Allouette III was used in a 1978 ABC drama called Catspaw Thank you to our Facebook group member Andrew Carlisle for solving that mystery. An extra photo below via Kurt Finger "Thriller serial Catspaw was an exciting tale about a group of Australian mercenaries who are hired to recover a stolen helicopter. Tim Keppel, an RAF officer seconded to the RAAF had gone missing with the copter and Flight Lt Harry Sawtell led the team trying to find it. Essendon Airport (close to Melbourne) was used as the airbase location" Attached Image |
