After a link for accident report involving two Australian F111s. The first was at Tenterfeild in April 87 and the other was at Guyra in September 93. I remember reading these years ago . Any info would be great.

The Guyra crash in '93 was distraction/disorientation at night during the recovery from a loft attack on a simulated target. Unsure of the previous one at Tenterfield, but it could have been something similar.

I'm pretty sure both were similar and were primarily attributed to a loss of situational awareness during the escape manoeuvre of a simulated night attack

No luck on the reports, but i did find this from The Sunday Age back in 99 which makes mention of the 93 Guyra accident

I have a two page document on the Tenterfield accident which is a photocopy of a aviation safety publication. This publication used official reports and statements to produce the original article.

It states " The scenario which best fits the evidence is that the pilot misread the altimeter during the escape manoeuvre after simulated bombs release and, for reasons unknown (ie, possible discrations), did not detect the error in time to avoid the ground.

I should also have information regarding the Guyra crash too.

Would love to read what you have Dean. I am quite familiar with both accidents, but just want some more details. I last week visited both crash sites and was trying to get a perspective on how it happened. Thanks Mick

That is actually A8-127 pictured in this document, not A8-128 in its final flight...
