I'll add exact details later. Just wanted to add this first pic, apparently taken on the way from Garden Island Sydey to Mascot 1967. One of the 'pdf pics' has details of the 'wide load' (later).

At Garden Island, Sydney, unloading day...

“On completion of discharging the Skyhawks in Jervis Bay, on the 22nd. November 1967, HMAS Melbourne proceeded to Garden Island Dock and berthed on the FOW (Fitting out wharf) where the Trackers were off loaded onto low loaders and trucked through the middle of Sydney to Nowra. This operation was a huge media event.”

Thanks Phil, great shots.
That cross beam structure is just what's needed to rescue a few from West Sale!

On the back of one photo there are these handwritten dimensions. Also an investigation of different routes in case of bad weather or difficulty transporting by various methods were investigated with eventually A4Gs being 'decanted' in Jervis Bay to HMAS Creswell then by road truck to NAS Nowra. I guess this method was not feasible for the S-2Es hence G.I. offload - truck to Mascot - then flight to NAS Nowra. Also an outline of an S-2E was constructed at Randwick to truck around various routes to see what would work.
